This time our two modern day adventurers are going even further in to our pioneering past, retracing incredible acts of kiwi heroism, rescues, shipwrecks, and deadly pursuits. Hot on the heels of incredible explorers before them, Kevin & Jamie take on eight amazing journeys, witnessing first hand the gruelling physical & metal demands faced by these extraordinary pioneers. From the heroic rescue of Ruth Adams from La Perouse Glacier in the South Islands Southern Alps, to the controversial survival story of Bill Sutch in the North Island's Tararua Ranges, these are not just stories of amazing exploration and discovery; but rather journeys of hardship, survival, bravery and courage, journeys that demonstrate good old Kiwi ingenuity, resourcefulness, and compassion.
