"TE OHAKI OTE PO"
A look at a two-week restoration school sponsored by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust to restore wooden panels from two historic meeting houses Rongopai and Rukupo. Representatives from four East Coast tribes painstakingly removed the top coats of paint to reveal underneath a series of unique and beautifully painted panels. Panels from a South Island meeting house were also restored and are ceremonially handed over at the end of the programme.
