Inspired by Monty Python, there was no person called Les Deverett and it was only a half hour show. Originally filmed as 6 half hour episodes, it was butchered into 3 by editors who were detached from the creative side of the show and clearly did not understand the vision. The cast lamented they had edited out the best bits
