Scott, Valarie
An interior decorator and Fellow of the British Institute of Interior Designers. She was part-time tutor at Wellington Polytechnic School of Design, wrote a newspaper column, and taught yoga. Valerie was also a director of the Wellington Samaritans (an emergency telephone service). Born in Foxton, she lived in Thorndon, Wellington, in an 80-year-old cottage. She authored Bright Ideas. Valerie was looking forward to retiring the second time around, 'to give myself more time to garden (especially growing unusual herbs). take up woodcarving, make stained glass windows and perhaps write another book'.
