At the turn of the century New Zealand's kauri forests were plundered and devastated, not only for the timber but also for the valuable gum. The kauri forests are slowly increasing again thanks to protection and to conservation and planting schemes. This film looks at the history of the kauri forests through to the present-day attempts to regenerate the forests.
