More than 600 Māori died on the battle fields of Greece, Italy, Crete and North-ern Africa during World War II. Prague-based New Zealand film-maker Michael Havas documents the 1977 pilgrimage cruise of 28 Māori Battalion members when comrades and families of the fallen returned to the battlefields and cemeteries to honour their dead in traditional Māori ways.
