A performance of Leoncavallo's opera. A group of strolling players visit the small Italian village of Calabria on the day of the Feast of the Assumption in 1865. That night they perform a play which mirrors the real-life drama of love and jealousy being played out behind the scenes and reality takes over, with - tragic results.
