a series of five programmes featuring three Māori cultural groups from the Wellington area whoose performances were introduced and explained by Bill Kerekere.
“Tenei Matou” means “this is us” or “here we are” and is indicative of attempts by the producer, Mark Westmoreland, to present the groups in their own manner. Each group was featured in its own programme and each has the opportunity to present its own choice of traditional and original material.
Episodes
1) Ngati Poneke Seniors of the Ngati Poneke Māori Club.
2) Mawai Hakona Maori Association, the winner of the national competitions at 1973's Polynesian Festival of Arts.
3) Te Kahui Rangatahi, the youngest in both age and experience. They were formed in August, 1970, for a television programme “Te Rangatahi” and stayed together since.
4) Features Ngati Poneke Māori Club
5) The Mawai Hakona Māori Association, made a second appearance.
