A series of country music programmes produced in Dunedin, featuring John Hore as frontman, with entertainers Christine Smith, Steve Allen, the Avocados and Michelle making regular appearances.

The latter two both come from Dunedin, the Avocados being a well-known group with two “Studio One" appearances to their credit, while Michelle made her television debut in “Pop Co."

“Country Folk” featured about half country music, half indigenous folk songs, which covered many aspects of early New Zealand life, including gold panning, gum digging and shearing.
