Produced by Cinco Cine Film Productions, the makers of Pukana, Manu Tiioriori was a talent search with the aim of forming a pop group that performed and sung in the Maori language. It was first shown on TV3 (now Three) in 2001 and repeated on Maori TV in 2004.
