The compere, John Reid, put questions to a panel of three people while the guest — a member of the opposite sex — remains hidden from view. Members of the panel gain a point for each answer they give which finds favour with the hidden guest; the contestant who comes closest to the guest’s ideal is the winner. The guest and the winner do not see each other until the end of the programme.
