Minehan, Mike

He started working in broadcasting in the NZBC current affairs department, then 1 year later got a promotion to the Parliamentary Press Gallery. When Town and Around started, he was the only reporter they had for the first month. After two years with Town and Around he joined Compass.

In 1968 he moved to Australia where he was compere of the Brisbane edition of ABC-TV's This Day Tonight, and later of Channel 9's A Current Affair.

1967 he did a program 'Herks to Huskies' at Scott Base in Antarctica. He shared my cabin during the filming.

He was one of my lecturers/teachers at the University of Technology, Sydney when I was undergoing my Master of Arts in Communication Management in the late nineties. Always had a captivating story to share with us. Excellent human being too.
