Sledmere, Peter

Born in England, Peter foiled a Jesuit plot to educate him in London, then ran away to sea, which was how he first came to visit New Zealand in 1960.

After deciding a maritime career was the wrong choice, he made immigrated to New Zealand in 1967, and found his true vocation as a broadcaster. He began as an announcer in Gisborne the following year and worked with the NZBC and Radio New Zealand in Christchurch, Hawkes Bay and Wellington.

reading about your various stage performances, did you not also take part in the show "Hair" in Palmerston North,way back in the sixties or seventies.
