Williams, Iona

Iona Williams was born in Dunedin and lived there until she went overseas in 1948. She was married in 1949 and went to live in Ghana with her husband, who was Professor of Economics at the University of Ghana (then the Gold Coast). She returned to New Zealand, and back to Dunedin, in 1961 and lived there, except for 18 months in Papua New Guinea and one or two trips abroad.

Was a city councillor, president of the Dunedin YWCA and a member of quite a number of other boards.
