Stalker, Bill
Acted since he was 15. Born in Masterton, he lived in Dannevirke and Pokawa. Hastings, before attending the University of Canterbury. He obtained his B.A. degree, <q>by means of working 16 hours a day in the freezing works during the holidays.</q> Previously. he worked in a garage every night for five years. He was an actor and director with the Canterbury University Drama Society and with the Court Theatre.
In the main centres, he has appeared in "Dracula," "The Bed-Sitting Room,” with Spike Milligan and "The Two Tigers” for Downstage: "As You Like It.” as Oliver. ‘"Much Ado About Nothing." as Don Juan; “The Good Person of Setzuan”; "Valdemar," his first singing role ("a not very promising debut"): and with Janice Finn, his screen wife, in "Hedda Gabler"
During his work on Close to home he was a full time father at the Avalon studios on some days. His daughter, seven-month-old Fritha, appeared as the Fleming baby on screen. Her mother is "Beaver.” well known as a singer, whom he met when they were both members of the Blerta travelling road show.
