Muir, Penny

Born in London on 24th October 1945

Penny's family came to New Zealand when she was 9, allegedly to escape the threat of nuclear warfare. However, all except herself drifted back to London where, she supposed, they were facing the possibility of World War III with more stoicism.

When she began at Otago University in 1962, she wanted to do an Arts degree, and her parents wanted her to do Law, so they compromised and she did both, becoming a tutor in law at Otago University.
